Cosmetology/Nail Technology/Esthetics Future Professionals must adhere to the following professional dress code while in attendance:
- Core Future Professionals may wear black.
- Phase One Future Professionals may wear black, gray & white in any combination.
- Clothing should be professional and clean.
- Hair should be styled & any cosmetics must be applied before arriving at the school.
- Name tag - provided by the school. All Future Professionals are required to wear a name tag at all times while in attendance. Replacements are available for $5.00.
The following is a list of acceptable dress:
- Patterned clothing is acceptable if it is a black, gray and white designs with no words.
- Shirts and blouses must cover your belly, back, and chest areas.
- Sleeveless tops must have 1” wide shoulder straps.
- Printed T-Shirts, sweatshirts, or hooded sweatshirts, with the Paul Mitchell logo may be worn.
- Small Logos are allowed only if the logo is smaller than the size of your name tag.
- Jeans or clothing made of jean material. Any holes, rips or tears in your jeans must be no higher than 3” above the top of your knee.
- Slacks or dress pants.
- Dresses, skirts, shorts, and/or skorts may be worn if they are no higher than 3” above the top of your knee.
- Oversized / long / loose fitting fashion tops / sweaters / dresses may be worn with black leggings underneath only as long as it covers your front and back with your arms raised.
- Jeggings may be worn but must have pockets on the back.
- Shoes may be dress shoes, flats, comfortable heels, stylish sandals, stylish platform shoes, stylish sneakers, or stylish boots. Shoes should be clean, professional, practical, and comfortable. They may be any color. Feet must be pedicured when wearing open-toed shoes.
- Accessory additions such as jewelry, belts, fashion hats, scarves, and fashion head wraps. Accessories can be any color.
All Massage Future Professionals must adhere to the following professional dress code while in attendance:
- Core Massage Future Professionals may wear all black scrubs.
- Phase One Massage Future Professionals may wear all black, white or gray scrubs.
- Name tag - provided by the school. All Future Professionals are required to wear a name tag at all times while in attendance.
- Hair should be styled for class. Hair should be pulled up or back for body work in the clinic classroom.
- Shoes should be clean, professional, practical, and comfortable. They may be any color.
- Printed T-Shirts, sweatshirts, or hooded sweatshirts, with the Paul Mitchell logo may be worn.
- Small Logos are allowed only if the logo is smaller than the size of your name tag.
- During body work in the clinic classroom the following dress is NOT permitted:
- Tops with sleeves
- Jewelry
- Perfumes and/or scented lotions
- Long, un-manicured nails
The following is a list of unacceptable dress for All Future Professionals in class or on the clinic classroom:
- NO Flip-Flops, Slippers, Lounge Style Footwear, or Beach Style Footwear.
- NO Active wear clothing of any kind.
- NO Logos on any article of clothing. Paul Mitchell Logos Only.
- NO Graphics, Brands or Wording on any article of clothing. Paul Mitchell Logos Only.
- NO Baseball hats, visors, bandanas, caps, or beanies.
- NO Headphones, headgear, and/or earphones. Unless approved by your Learning Leader.
- NO Sunglasses.
- NO Personal bags, purses, backpacks, or fanny packs of any size. All bags must remain in the student breakroom.
- NO Coats or jackets on the clinic floor or in the classrooms.
Future Professionals who fail to comply with the above Professional guidelines may not continue to receive clock hours and will be coached. If recurrent coaching is needed the Future Professional may receive an advisory.
