From the first day of school we begin teaching State Board safety and sanitation standards. These standards are taught throughout the course to ensure Future Professionals practice the standards with each guest service and continue after they graduate. South Dakota does not require a practical exam for licensure. South Dakota does require a written theory and state laws and rules exam for licensure.
During the Core phase a Future Professional is required to pass and complete all practical and written exams prior to moving to the Adaptive Phase. Future Professionals will be assigned to take their state laws & rules and final theory exams during the Final Phase scheduled class by the Final Phase learning leader. It is required to pass written final exams prior to completion of Final Phase. Exams must be passed with a 80% or higher to graduate.
