GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS IN COURSES
The Student must complete the following graduation requirements:
- Complete the required number of Program clock hours.
- Complete and submit all CourseKey assignments, to demonstrate completion of State requirements.
- Pass the School’s final written and practical exams.
- Complete the required theory hours and pass all written theory exams.
Upon meeting all requirements listed above for graduation, the Student will receive an official transcript.
Students may also request an official current transcript from the School, at any time following
graduation.
Upon meeting all requirements listed above for graduation, having all monies owed to the school and/or a
payment arrangement made with the School, the Student will receive a graduation/completion certificate.
Upon graduation, the School will issue one (1) transcript to the Student free of charge. Any additional
transcript requests made by the Student or a third party will be charged a $15.00 fee as of the date of the request.
Massage students are eligible to take the MBlex Exam at any time, it is recommended to take around 500 hours.
Cosmetology, Nail Technology and Esthetic students may take the South Dakota state exam at any time, but is recommended within your last 200 hours.
GRADUATES COMPLETING A PROGRAM AND REENROLLING IN A NEW PROGRAM
A student that graduates from one program within the school and wishes to enroll in another program within the school, a determination of the state laws will determine the amount of hours that will be transferred into the new program, the student will need to meet the quantitative and qualitative components of SAP for the new program.
CREDIT FOR HOURS FROM ONE PROGRAM TO ANOTHER FOR DUAL LICENSING
Many students find they want to continue their education in one of our other 4 programs. Our state board allows hours from the other programs to transfer as such.
Massage hours do not transfer to other programs
Cosmetology license = 440 Hours credited to Esthetics Program
Cosmetology license = 300 Hours credited to Nail Program
Esthetics License = 120 Hours credited to Nail Program
Nail License = 120 Hours credited to Esthetic Program
Esthetics License = 380 Hours credited to Cosmetology Program
Nail License = 240 Hours credited to Cosmetology Program

Career opportunities for Cosmetologists include, but are not limited to, Hair Stylist, Color Stylist, Makeup Artist, Nail Technician, Educator, Salon Owner or Manager, Product Trainer, Platform Artist, Esthetician, and many more.
Paul Mitchell The School Rapid City does not guarantee employment upon graduation, Paul Mitchell The School Rapid City does maintain an aggressive job placement program and will inform students of job openings and opportunities. Paul Mitchell The School Rapid City coordinates placement programs with local and national salons by sending out surveys and inviting salon owners and guest artists to teach and speak there.
Paul Mitchell The School Rapid City has placed students in the beauty industry as Hair Stylists, Makeup Artists, Massage Therapists, Beauty Industry Educators, and Salon Owners.
