Makeup hours are accumulated when a Future Professional receives hours outside of their weekly schedule. Future Professionals must be under 100% attendance to sign up for makeup hours. You may only sign up for makeup hours that do not exceed the number of absent hours you have.
We have specific opportunities for Future Professionals to receive makeup hours. Future Professional’s may perform services on a doll head or hand if there is no scheduled guest. Guest services always come first. Future Professionals may not receive services while they are completing makeup hours.
Future Professionals may only sign up for makeup hours if they have completed ‘protege’ and are on the clinic floor portion of their program. Massage Future Professionals must test out of bodywork before you can sign up for makeup hours.
Core or Protege may only sign up for makeup hours if approved by the Core Learning Leader for special planned school events.
Makeup Hour Opportunities Cosmetology Part Time Schedule - Can attend Monday or Friday 9:00 am until 4:30 pm (sign up required). Must fill out a makeup time request form by no later than Wednesday of the previous week you are signing up to complete makeup hours and submit for approval to the Future Professional Advisor.
Makeup Hour Opportunities Esthetics - Can attend Tuesday 7:00 pm until 8 pm or Friday 9:00 am until 4:30 pm (sign up required). Must fill out a makeup time request form by no later than Wednesday of the previous week you are signing up to complete makeup hours and submit for approval to the Future Professional Advisor.
Makeup Hour Opportunities Massage - Fridays at 9:00 am with first appointment for 90 minute massage from 9:30-11:00, 60 minute massage from 11:30-12:30, 60 minute massage from 1:00-2:00 pm, and then clean up time (hours available 5.5). Massage Future Professionals must receive approval from the Massage Learning Leader to sign up for available makeup hours. Then you must fill out a makeup time request form by no later than Wednesday of the previous week you are signing up to complete makeup hours and submit for approval to the Future Professional Advisor. Massage Future Professionals will need to pre-book their massage clients for their makeup hours, you may massage family, friends, other future professionals, or staff members. Chair massage does not count towards makeup hours.
Makeup Hour Opportunities Nails - Can attend Monday 9:00 am until 4:30 pm (sign up required). Must fill out a makeup time request form by no later than Wednesday of the previous week you are signing up to complete makeup hours and submit for approval to the Future Professional Advisor.
*Reminder: If you are missing theory on Wednesday’s these additional hours do not go towards required theory hours.
*Reminder: You must turn in your makeup hour form to the Future Professional Advisor after completion of your makeup hours to receive your makeup hours for that day.
Makeup Hour Guidelines
If you sign up to attend and do not show you will forfeit your opportunity to continue earning makeup hours for the following 4 weeks after your scheduled make up hour day.
Sign-ups for makeup hour opportunities will be available Monday - Wednesday the week prior to the makeup hour dates you are requesting approval for. If you do not sign up for makeup hours by the end of the school day on Wednesday the week before your makeup hour request date, you will not be permitted to stay for makeup hours for that following week.
You must be working during the time you are at the school for makeup hours. If you are observed on your phone, visiting or being disruptive you will be asked to leave, you will not receive makeup hours for that day and will forfeit your opportunity to earn future makeup hours for the following 4 weeks after your scheduled make up hour day that you forfeited due to the above mentioned guidelines.
Additional Makeup Hour Opportunities Future Professionals may also receive makeup hours for attending a school event that is during the hours they are not scheduled. If you sign up for event makeup hours and do not show up for your scheduled event make up hours, you will lose your event makeup hour privileges. (To earn your event makeup hour privileges back, you must have 100% attendance for two weeks prior to the next event make up hour opportunity date, and/or must have a 90% overall attendance percentage).
